Aside from the very average food, the waiting staff were no where to be seen for the majority of our visit. The roast potatoes were dry and looked like they had been under a heater for too long, we were given a tiny cast iron dish of vegetables, of which the cabbage and carrots were so over cooked they were stuck to the bottom of the dish and were inedible. The level of food did not reflect the price tag at all and I have had higher quality food. We went for a Sunday roast (priced at £27 for the roast beef and £22 for the Lamb), which is very expensive for a Sunday roast. Until we see you all again, keep smiling and be happy. It was a delight catching up with Manos, and his mother was the epitome of elegance. We concluded this gastronomic fest with Sambucas, black coffee, cappuccino, and a lemon tea. Two of us then went for a Merlot and a cheeseboard, and one went for an appetising confection. This culinary excellence was baptised with a crisp, and perfectly chilled Sauvignon blanc. Again, the flavour and texture were brilliant. This was followed by lobster, fries,and trimmings and two of us went for the panfried cod and puree mix. Starters comprised of chicken liver parfait giant king prawns and grilled octopus: all were superbly prepared and presented. Accompanied by the festive music, decorations, and complimentary Proseccos - thanks, Arto - we made our selection from a varied menu. The diners there were already in full swing and joy. The decor remains unchanged: romantic lighting, delightfully quirky figureheads on the walls, a full-bar with seating on the left, and large folding glass doors on the right. It was great seeing Arto and Coster, who showed us to. The welcome made us feel right at home, and the banter and laughter began. We three gluttoneers braved the snow, ice, and rain and invaded TDH for a Sunday lunch, and we weren't disappointed. Our compliments to the chefs, and we hope to see you all again soon. Alas, the Tia Maria coffee was too muted, but it was changed swiftly by Costa with a cappuccino and a Tia Maria on the side. We were too full for dessert and finished off with a Tia Maria coffee, lemon tea, black Americano, and black Sambucas. This culinary joy was christened with a chilled fruity Sauvignon Blanc, which complemented our meal perfectly. Though, my wife felt that the fish pie was a little muted in taste, but that the fish within was cooked beautifully. Our mains of spicy lobster and crayfish pasta, fish pie, and lobster with fries were full of flavour. Our starters comprised of spicy chicken wings, grilled octopus, and ribs all were perfectly presented and prepared. Armed with complimentary Proseccos, we made our selection from quite a varied menu. It was great catching up with Manos, and the chat and laughter was immediate. glass doors on the right that open onto an al fresco terrace. There's a full-bar with seating on the left, and large. The decor remains unchanged: romantic lighting, light tiles, and quirky figureheads on the walls. On entering you're welcomed warmly and shown to your table.
